Black Tubeless Tape - 50m Roll

Black Tubeless tape for any modern Rim.

Suitable for use on tubed tyres as well - our go-to and supplied on all our MKULTRA wheels.

INSTRUCTIONS
MTB wheels, we recommend 2 full passes
Road and Gravel, we recommend 3 full passes.

1. Remove all existing tape and any build-up
2. Wipe clean with Wax and Grease Removed to ensure a spotless finish
3. Approximately 100mm behind the valve, (between 2 spoke holes) apply base tape and apply pressure and rub the contacting point firmly - until you're around 50mm past the Valve
4. Under high tension, wrap the tape around the rim, centring it perfectly
5. Repeat process until you have completed the required number of passes
6. After passing 150mm past the valve (on the opposing side of the rim) press the tape down firm around 100mm past the valve, and trim the 50mm of overlap on the roll
7. Continue to massage the end piece to ensure tape has bonded correctly
8. Using a small round diamond file, or soldering iron, pierce (carefully) the valve hole and ensure a clean hole with no tears or raised edges
9. Install the valves of your choice
10. Mount and inflate/seat tyre without sealant
11. Ensure tyre holds pressure for 10 minutes without any sealant - if it does - deflate the tyre and add your sealant of choice.
12. Enjoy your tubeless wheel setup

FAQ

Which size tape do I need?
We usually recommend using a tape which is around 2mm wider than the internal rim width below the clincher hooks. For hookless apply the same sizing

What sealant should I use?
There is no "right" answer, but our opinion is to avoid sealants which contain ammonia. This is due to the chemical reaction that can occur should it leak and come in to contact with alloy nipples. The result? Corrosion and decay of your wheels

My friend says I need less passes!
Your friend might be right, you might need less, but we have a method which works for us, and we are sticking with it.
